Supervisor

“Feeling involved and having an opportunity to influence my workplace makes me happy at work every day”

Meet Sami Suopanki, one of our talented supervisors at SK Licenssvets.

What is your role at SK Licenssvets?

Today I have been a supervisor for the past two years but have worked at the company since 2002 from what can be said the basis. It started with a job as a welder / fitter, then it became more responsibility as an assembly manager, until I advanced up to supervisor. In my role as supervisor, I have taken care of medium-sized projects that have been located not only in Sweden but also Norway and Denmark. It has meant a lot of travel during certain periods. The supervisor position means that you are responsible for a work team, usually in the size of 5-15 men.

What can a working day look like?

You never know 100 percent! But we start the work where we left off the previous day. You can have a plan and a plan, but it never turns out quite as you imagined because unforeseen things often come up. It may sound negative and what makes the pace even more heroic, but it is also what makes the job exciting and challenging. It makes every day look different. Sometimes it is directly into the production, or you start with a meeting, purchase or contact with the customer or suppliers.

What is the biggest challenge?

Get it together! Among other things, make everyone feel comfortable at work while keeping a high pace. This with personal chemistry in the work team can be a big challenge because all individuals are different and all work teams always look different .. Every day is a new challenge where it is about meeting changes and being flexible. It is constantly a learning process for me at the same time as I have to “teach” others.

And the most fun – what is it?

When you root everything in port and then with a profit of course. A profit not only financially but satisfied customer, satisfied work team and satisfied company. The most fun is also the variety of tasks, workplaces and meetings of people. There is a constant stimulus where you never get bored.
